Jared G. Parker.

Jared Parker is a partner in the firm and has practiced law since 1980, focusing on business restructuring and bankruptcy, litigation and debtor/creditor rights. His clients have included commercial and consumer debtors, secured lenders, unsecured creditors, official and unofficial creditor committees, indenture trustees, bankruptcy trustees, state and federal court receivers, purchasers of estate assets, DIP lenders, and lessors of real or personal property. His experience includes commercial and tort litigation, mediation, other alternative dispute resolution and appeals. Jared has been rated AV Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell and named to Arizona’s Top Lawyers by Az Business Magazine.

After graduating from Dartmouth College in 1977, magna cum laude, Jared attended law school at the University of California, Berkeley (Boalt Hall). He is licensed to practice in Arizona and Vermont (inactive status).

Jared has had significant roles in many of the largest Chapter 11 cases in Arizona. He was debtors’ counsel in the multi-billion dollar cases of the subsidiaries of Charles Keating’s Lincoln Savings. He represented McDonalds in the purchase of stores from the Boston Market case. In the Circle K case, he represented the Unsecured Creditors Committee and has served as post- confirmation Disbursing Agent. Jared also represented key parties in other Chapter 11 cases, including Suncor Development, Ecotality, Prescott Valley Event Center, Cocopah Nurseries, Red Mountain Farming, D&E Dairy Farms, Mortgage Limited, American Broadcasting System, El Paso Electric, Revco Drug Stores, America West Airlines, and StatesWest Airlines. He has served on special counsel teams for debtors in national cases, litigating preference actions in the TWA Chapter 11 and claim objections in the MCI/Worldcom Chapter 11.

He has been involved in bankruptcy cases or receiverships of many Arizona hotels or resorts, including the Biltmore, the Registry, the Paradise Valley Resort, the Phoenician, and the former Adams Hotel, representing owners, managers, mortgage holders or Creditors Committees.

Jared also had a general practice in Vermont handling family law (mostly child custody cases), real estate transactions and title disputes, general litigation, probate and guardianship cases and criminal defense.

He has written and lectured for various bar associations, educational organizations, and professional groups. He is a Master with the Arizona Bankruptcy American Inn of Court and a member of the Bankruptcy Section of the State Bar of Arizona, the American Bankruptcy Institute and the American Bar Association. The Volunteer Lawyers Program has recognized Jared for his pro bono work on their cases. He also provides volunteer representation through the Bankruptcy Court’s Self-Help Center and to clients directly. Jared has been a steward with the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy in Scottsdale for several years.
